The example flutter maps are for Standard Configuration 10. Navier-Stokes flow simulations with full turbulence modeling were performed to produce the flutter maps. The following flow conditions were assumed:
Total Pressure | 101.3 kPa |
---|---|
Total Temperature | 300.0 K |
Chord Length | 100 mm |
The flutter maps are for a pitching mode at a various blade frequencies. The reduced frequency of each map refers to the subsonic steady-state case defined for Standard Configuration 10 (inlet Mach number 0.7 and inlet flow angle 55 degrees). It was assumed that the blades were tuned and that the stage had 50 blades. The flutter boundary is marked by the thick black line between the green (stable) and yellow (unstable) regions.
